If you take on an existing client with dozens (or hundreds!) of existing assets, and you want to manage and service these assets for them with the Asset Management add-on, it's possible to bulk-import them into ServiceM8.
In this scenario, there are two main steps:
- Bulk-importing the assets into ServiceM8 (covered separately, here); and
- Completing the setup of each asset on site, by linking the saved Asset to a new QR code label (covered in this article below).
How to Link Imported Assets to QR Code Labels On Site
Once you have bulk-imported a number of assets against a client in ServiceM8, you will need to finalise the setup process for each asset on site before you can complete any inspection/service forms against them (using the Forms add-on).
To complete the setup of an imported Asset:
1. Apply a new QR code label to it.
2. Open Assets from the relevant job card for the subject client.
3. Search and select the Asset you want to set up.
4. Tap 'Complete Asset Setup'.
5. Scan the label and set the Asset's location.
6. Take a photo.
7. Setup complete!
